Laughing All The Way To The Health Bank!

Did you know that laughing is officially good for your health?

It has been said that laughter is the best medicine (Proverb 17:22) and this is so true!

Good Sense Of Humour Is Good For Your Health

So do you have a GSOH?

Why do people ask this? Well, because laughter is an essential part of life.

For me, laughter is a way to connect with people, to make new friends and to simply enjoy life.

It’s a kind of therapy, to not just ease our state of mind, but also to elevate it.

Not only is laughter good for our physical health, but it also has a positive effect on our mental health.

On the other hand, “a broken spirit dries the bones.”

Are You Having a Tin Bath (Laugh)?!

Laughter releases endorphins, which are the body’s natural feel-good hormones.

These hormones can reduce stress, improve our mood, and even help us to relax.

When we laugh, we can also reduce our body’s levels of cortisol, which is the hormone responsible for the fight-or-flight response.

Lower levels of cortisol can help us to stay calmer in stressful situations.

Studies have also shown that laughter can have a positive effect on our immune systems.

Laughter can increase our levels of infection-fighting antibodies, which can help us to fight off germs and stay healthy.

Laughter can also be an effective way to cope with difficult emotions.

When we laugh, it can give us a sense of relief from whatever we are feeling. This can help to reduce feelings of sadness, anger, and fear.

Let The Children’s Laughter…

Remember when we were children and naturally curious and full of energy?

It is a well-known scientific fact that children laugh more than adults.

Yours Truly!

Extensive research has been conducted on this topic and the results show that, on average, adults laugh only about 16 times a day whereas children laugh up to 400 times a day!

We adults are often weighed down by the responsibilities of life, making us less likely to laugh or find humour in things.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of a child’s life is their love of laughter. From the time they are born, children are drawn to laughter.

It is a sign of joy, fun, and connection with others.

Isn’t it a joy and even fun to see and hear babies laughing?!

One of the major reasons why children laugh more is because they are more inclined to find the humour in things.

Children tend to see the world through an imaginative and playful lens, which allows them to find humour in everyday situations more easily than adults.

Children also find joy in simple things, like a funny facial expression or a silly joke, that adults may not find entertaining.

Laughter also contributes to physical health by increasing oxygen intake and improving cardiovascular functioning.

Interesting, isn’t it?

Children are also more likely to laugh when interacting with others.

Studies have shown that when adults are in a social situation, we are more likely to laugh out of politeness or to fit in, rather than out of genuine amusement.

Let’s not be those people!

Children, on the other hand, are more likely to laugh when interacting with others, even if they don’t find it funny.

Children are also more likely to laugh because they are wiling to take risks.

They are willing to try new things, and often find the humour in unexpected situations.

Adults, on the other hand, are more likely to take a safe approach to life, which may limit our ability to find the humour in things.

Boring!

So the next time you’re feeling down, try to think like a child and find the humour in the world around you.
